ASSET SEARCH

A comprehensive asset search is $325.00.  The basic asset search is $125.00.

Tangible assets such as real estate, vehicles, planes, boats, RV's will be included in both the basic and comprehensive background searches.  However, in the comprehensive asset search, we expand the research to cover possible fraudulent conveyances (the defendant quitclaimed his house to his son right after you were awarded your judgment), current employer, trusts holding assets, unregistered businesses, business partners and any other possible sources of income, such as rental income or accounts receivable.  Credit reports for active businesses will be included if on record with the credit reporting agencies.  

In the comprehensive search, financial accounts will be researched using legal processes.  If the accounts cannot be obtained legally, we will make recommendations, based on the research, for  obtaining information that could be subpoenaed in order to produce the accounts.

Both the comprehensive and basic searches will also include UCC filings and civil judgments in order to determine if other creditors are also pursuing collections efforts and where your case falls in the hierarchy of judgments. Bankruptcies will also be included as it is possible that the defendant's financial circumstances may lead to bankruptcy, which will void all of your due diligence for finding assets.  If a bankruptcy has recently been discharged, the defendant cannot re-file until the statute runs out.

You may not need a full asset search in order to answer questions about the subject. The $125.00 basic asset search will tell you whether or not the defendant has any apparent assets or income that will benefit you.  A defendant who owns no real estate and is unemployed does not warrant extensive research.  Our consultation will help determine what you really need in order to accomplish your goals.  We will make recommendations to legally obtain bank accounts and cell phone call records that might help in uncovering important asset information.
