CIVIL JUDGMENTS

In the U.S., there is no centralized governmental database of civil judgments. In order to do a comprehensive search for  judgments, searches must be performed in federal district courts, in individual counties and in state courts. This requires that we perform a modified background search on the subject in order to know which counties and states to search.

The fee for a comprehensive civil judgment search, including federal and all counties, is $150.00. The fee for a single county is $35.00.  If we can obtain the transcripts of the case, there may be an additional fee, depending on the court's costs.  Contact us to discuss what searches will produce the information you need.
 
You should also search the database of the Internet Civil Judgment Registry to see if a plaintiff or attorney has submitted a judgment on the subject.  The search is free.
In order to make it easy for the public to find your judgment, we recommend that you register it in the Internet Civil Judgment Registry.  The annual registration fee is $9.95. You can even include a scanned copy of the complete case, if you choose.
